Bianca Pantea is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at “Babeş-Bolyai” University in Cluj-Napoca and followed the master’s courses in Criminal and Forensic Sciences at the same faculty.
Bianca Pantea is one of our coordinators of the department of criminal law and criminal business law. With more than 7 years’ experience in this legal field, she coordinated the activity of the company in legal assistance and consulting in criminal files both with regards to common law offences from the Criminal Code and offences under special laws, such as those of corruption, tax evasion, money laundering or intellectual property offences.
Also, Bianca Pantea specializes in constitutional and human rights law, providing legal advice in dozens of proceedings before the Constitutional Court of Romania and the European Court of Human Rights. Her experience covers almost all the fundamental rights guaranteed to citizens, focusing in particular on the right to life and physical integrity, the right to a fair trial, the right to privacy and the right to property protection. She is the co-author of several specialized papers presenting the ECHR jurisprudence in these matters.
Bianca Pantea has successfully represented hundreds of clients, including various public officials, well-known businessmen at local or national level, policemen, magistrates and lawyers. Also, she gave legal consultancy to authorities, other public entities of national interest, associations and also private companies with cumulative turnovers of hundreds of millions of euros.
Her notable successes include:
- assisting a former Secretary of State in the proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights in which it was found that the right to a fair trial was violated, as well as in the subsequent procedure for re-examining the process at national level;
- Providing assistance to a central energy authority in a criminal procedure finalized by removing the obligation to pay civil damages of over 8 million euros;
- Providing consultancy in a case concerning several judges accused of corruption, finalized with a decision not to prosecute after the court sent the file back in the criminal investigation phase;
- Representation of several public officials in criminal cases concerning allegations of corruption or assimilated to them, in which solutions of acquittal have been given;
- Representation and assistance of a well-known businessmen in a trial concerning economic crimes, finalized by sending the case back to the criminal investigation phase, followed by a decision not to prosecute.
Bianca Pantea speaks fluent English and also speaks French and Spanish at conversational level.
