Marian Rus is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the Babeş-Bolyai University, being a lawyer since 2014. Immediately after becoming a member of the Cluj Bar, he joined the Chiriţă şi asociaţii team, specializing in the field of criminal law and criminal business law.
Over the years, he gained experience mainly in the field of corruption offences and those assimilated to them, offences of tax evasion, money laundering, offences provided for by Law no. 297/2004 regarding the capital market, drug trafficking offences, representing clients both before the criminal prosecution bodies and before the courts. He also participated in court proceedings before the District Court in Krakow.
Marian Rus had an active involvement in case files of high complexity, involving various local or nationally known businessmen, presidents of county councils, mayors as well as other high-ranking public officials, bank officials, insolvency practitioners, lawyers, university professors, doctors. At the same time, he represented the interests of companies with various turnover figures, as well as some non-banking financial institutions or a financial investment company whose shares are traded on the stock market. He obtained notable solutions for: chairman of the Board of Directors of a non-banking financial institution, sent to trial for offences regarding his activity and acquitted in the first instance; police officers, businessmen, civil servants within the local public administration, insolvency practitioner, in corruption cases or related to their functions and whose cases were dismissed; employee of a trading company dealing with intra-European transport of goods, accused of economic crimes; clients accused of drug trafficking.
His professional training also includes a specialization in the field of human rights and the proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights as well as in the extradition or execution procedures of the European arrest warrants.
Marian Rus speaks fluent English and German at a conversational level.
